Covid-19 Update

To our dear members and potential members,

We are planning to open the pool on August 28th, 2020 with some safety precautions in place to protect you and your family.

On Friday August 21, 2020 Alameda County issued Health Officer Orders to reopen outdoor swimming pools.  We are required to prepare, post, and implement a Site Specific Protection Plan (SSP). We are in the process of preparing our SSP and will share it with all members once it's complete.  Some of the information that will be addressed are:

  • Limiting the # of swimmers in the pool - Briarhill can have up to 6 people in the pool at a time.  All household members count as 1.

  • We are creating a SignUp Genius that will be linked through the Briarhill Cabana website.  You must sign up for a spot in order to use the pool.  More information on this coming!

  • Face coverings must be worn when out of the water whenever six feet of physical distancing cannot be maintained.

  • Bathrooms will be open but limited to 1 person at a time.  In the women's bathroom, only 1 stall will be operational.  Showers are not permitted to be used.

  • Outdoor furniture is prohibited.  Members may bring furniture (chair, umbrella) as long as it is not shared and is removed from the pool area when they leave.  Picnic tables will be available for use.

  • Briarhill Cabana Club will be cleaning the facility regularly to comply with the health ordinance.  The pool water is constantly being disinfected by chlorine; chlorine disables coronavirus.  Protocols will be implemented for items outside of the pool.

  • We have purchased an outdoor sink that will be located by the front gate with hand soap and paper towels.  We will also have hand sanitizer located throughout the facility.

The health and safety of our Members is our highest priority.  We are looking forward to seeing our members!  Check back for updates!

Briarhill will do our part to make sure bathrooms and gates are sanitized often.  If we all work together, we can make the pool a great place to escape to this summer!  Should Shelter in Place timing or requirements change, we will update accordingly.

Passes are available for a discounted price of $300 dollars.

If you have any questions/concerns, please email Angela Holstrom or Heather Morganstein. We are going to keep the pool opening and operational until Thanksgiving this year!
